An ex-BBC producer tried to perform a citizen's arrest on an entire family and Twitter is having a field day

He said “put your hands on the car and prepare to die!”

AN EX-BBC producer who worked with David Attenborough has gone viral after he was caught on film threatening a woman, her husband and their 11-year-old son in a hysterical bout of road rage.

According to the Huffington Post, the entire event occurred in a Sainsbury’s car park in Portsmouth on Saturday morning.

The event has since been reported on by most major news outlets in the UK.

Fergus Beeley, who worked on BBC wildlife productions, seriously lost his temper after the woman claimed that he had been impersonating a police officer.

The woman said that she was going to ask the police his rank when they arrived and he immediately backtracked on his claim. He then referred to the family, including the 11-year-old child that they were “a bunch of w**kers”.

When the father got out of the car, Fergus Beeley pulled the door back open to tell the wife and son “we’ve got you now, haven’t we?” He then went on to tell the family that he wanted them dead.

e got you now

It was a serious overreaction, considering he wasn’t even involved in the car accident that sparked the argument.

In the ridiculous video, he is then seen grabbing the father by the neck and telling him that he was under citizen’s arrest.  Beeley then said “Put your hands on the car and prepare to die!”

In his tirade, he screamed in the face of the 11-year-old child telling him that he, too, was under citizen’s arrest. It’s like watching Fawlty Towers.

Beeley tells a witness that he stepped in because people nearly lost their lives on the motorway. He did not appear to care much about lives when he was telling a man to “prepare to die!”

Although the attack was abhorrent, people are finding humour in the man’s aggressive and erratic behaviour.

They’re working on t-shirt ideas.

Some are speculating that he’s the type of person to throw a tantrum over a female Doctor Who lead.

People are also joking about how outrageous it was that he would threaten a child.

And applauding the incredible patience of the father on the receiving end of this man’s rant.

Others were imagining how awkward Monday morning in the office was for Mr. Beeley.

It really is everything we ever wanted from ‘Yer Da’ jokes.

People were joking that Beeley was handing out citizen’s arrests like Oprah Winfrey with prizes on her show.

And some Twitter users recognized the line “prepare to die”

New documentary ideas were pitched to him.

Huffington Post also reported that although both the father inside of the car and Beeley had made allegations of common assault against each other, neither party wanted to pursue the complaint.

Metro.co.uk have reached out to BBC, who refused to comment on the story as Mr. Beeley was not currently an employee.
